Modern Luxury’s City Magazines

I’m a traveling salesperson selling POS systems to doctors, dentists, chiropractors and other medical offices. As a result, I frequently find myself waiting in waiting rooms - sometimes waiting for a long time - all over the country, from Escondido to Estero…and as a result I’ve gotten to know some of our nation’s most popular magazines all too well.

One magazine keeps following me around, it seems. It’s called Modern Luxury, and it’s shiny and glossy and makes you want to pick it up and flip through the crisp pages. But the remarkable thing about Modern Luxury - and the reason I bring it up here - is that they have acquired a number of magazines across the country and now have created a unique portfolio for every market they’re in (and they’re in a lot of markets - check out this feature with Barry Beck.

A smattering of Modern Luxury articles I’ve run across recently (note how varied the subject matter is; not in any way exclusive to hifalutin topics of luxuriance):

  • Vegas - vegasmagazine.com/8-female-philanthropists-redefining-their-industries
  • Aspen - modernluxury.com/aspen/features/where-experience-the-colors-of-fall
  • LA - modernluxury.com/los-angeles/features/bluemercurys-barry-beck-expands-his-empire-eye-la
  • NYC (Gotham) - gotham-magazine.com/why-tom-fords-latest-fragrances-can-be-worn-by-both-men-and-women
  • DC - modernluxury.com/washington-dc/best-of-the-best/vegetarian-venues-we-love
  • San Francisco - modernluxury.com/san-francisco/story/marc-benioff-cant-stop-wont-stop-giving

I’ve found that - thankfully! - Modern Luxury provides universally interesting content that makes sitting in waiting rooms not always so bad.
